Long Beach may not be known as a hub of cultural activity, but the city does offer a decent
selection of live performing arts. If you’re looking to go out this weekend, check out
these venues:

  • Long Beach Playhouse. Showing Romeo and Juliet, Together and Alive at Last (a youth performance) and Blithe Spirit. Show times for both are Friday and Saturday (August 15, 16) at 8pm and Sunday (August 17) at 2pm. See the playhouse website for further information.
  • Garage Theatre. Showing The Last Days of Judas Iscariot Friday and Saturday (August 15, 16) at 8pm. Visit GarageTheater.org for the details.
  • Tibbies Dinner Theater. Showing Let’s Go to the Movies Friday (August 15) at 7:30pm,  Saturday (August 16) at 7pm and Sunday (August 17) at 2pm. Tibbies is located aboard The Queen Mary. More information is available at Tibbies’ website.

Two other main venues in the city are Terrace Theater and Center Theater, both located within the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. Show schedules for these venues are available at www.longbeachcc.com.
